Dr. Peg E. Daw, program director and administrator of the Nurse Support Program (NSP) II, was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing as a 2021 fellow. Selected distinguished nurse leaders are recognized for their contributions and impact to advance health care. Dr. Daw was inducted virtually on October 9, 2021 during the 2021 Health Policy Conference.
With a nursing career spanning over 35 years, Dr. Daw is respected as a leader and educator who has skillfully collaborated with academic and practice nurse leaders to identify professional challenges and implement innovative solutions. Dr. Daw's program evaluation contributions include outcomes of the $100 million invested by Maryland's hospitals to build statewide nursing educational capacity to increase nursing graduates and strengthen the faculty workforce.
During the induction ceremony, Dr. Daw spoke virtually about the impact of her work:
"The focus of my work has been the nursing and nurse faculty workforce. I have been fortunate to work with outstanding nurse colleagues to establish financial pathways for nurses to advance academically as educators. Their accomplishments will be our key to the future."
